A bullet weighing 10 g is fired with a velocity of 800 $m s^{- 1}$ . After passing through a mud wall 1 m thick, its velocity decreases to 100 $m s^{- 1}$ . Find the average resistance offered by the mud wall.

$v^{2} - u^{2} = 2 a s {(100)}^{2} - {(800)}^{2} = 2 a \times 1; S = 1 m a = \frac{- 640000 + 10000}{2} a = \frac{F}{m} \frac{F}{m} = - \frac{630000}{2} F = \frac{630000 \times 10 \times 10^{- 3}}{2} = \frac{6300}{2} = - 3150 N$
Resistance Offered= $3150$ N.
