The correct option is B20m
When the bullet hits target P, it's horizontal range will be 1000m ⇒ Since uy=0, ux=u=500m/s
∴ Time of flight for bullet: T=√2hg............i
Now kinematic equation in X-direction: OP=(ux)×T.........ii
⇒1000=500×√2hg ⇒2hg=22=4 ∴h=20m
Hence, h is the required height at which a rifle should be fired to hit the target at P.
