The correct option is B 20 m

When the bullet hits target P, it's horizontal range will be 1000 m
Since uy=0, ux=u=500 m/s

Time of flight for bullet:
T=2hg............i

Now kinematic equation in X-direction:
OP=(ux)×T.........ii

1000=500×2hg
2hg=22=4
h=20 m

Hence, h is the required height at which a rifle should be fired to hit the target at P.
