The fraction of carbohydrates = 59

We have to find whether the carbohydrate content is less than 12 the total amount of nutrient content.

Convert them into equivalent fractions.
The multiples of 2 and 9 are
2 : 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18,...
9 : 9, 18, 27, 36, 45,...
The common multiple of 2 and 9 is 18.
Hence, we get,
59 = 5 × 29 × 2 = 1018
12 = 1 × 92 × 9 = 918

When two fractions have the same denominator, the fraction with the greater numerator has the highest value. Thus 1018 is greater than 918.
So, 59 is greater than half.
