$s=1km=1000m$

$v_b=10m/s$ (relative speed with respect to bus)

$v=\frac{Distance}{Time}=\frac{1000}{100}=10m/s$

$v_b$=velocity of bus $v_s$=velocity of scooter

$v=v_s-v_b$

$10=v_s-10$

$v_s=10+10$

$v_s=20m/s$

The velocity with which the scooterist should chase the bus is 20 m/s
