Solution

Let no. of passengers be x
at first stop, no of passengers left and boarded are x2,35
no of passengers after first stop will be x1=xx2+35=x2+35

at second stop, no of passengers left and boarded are x15,40
no of passengers after second stop will be (x1)x15+40=4x15+40
given 80 passengers are remaining after second stop,
so 4x15+40=804x15=40x1=50x2+35=50x2=15x=30

no fo passengers boarded at first is 30
