Question

A bus moves moves by 8 m from its position of rest in first second,along a straight road .it covers24 m in the next second .is it moving with uniform acceleration . If so determine its value.

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

Acceleration = final velocity - initial velocity/t = v -u /t

In first second bus moves from rest to 8 m.
So initial velocity u = 0 and final velocity v = 8m/s

a = 8-0/1 = 8 m/s2
In second second bus moves from 8m/s and travelled distance 24 m in one sec.
So initial velocity u = 8m/s and final velocity v = 24m/s

a =24-8/1 = 16 m/s2

So bus is not moving with uniform acceleration.
