A bus starts from the rest, accelerates constantly and takes 50 seconds to get the speed of 10 ms−1. If the mass of the bus along with passengers is
10000 kg, calculate the force applied (in N) by the engine of the bus to push the bus to the speed of 10 ms−1?
Initial velocity, u= 0, final velocity, v= 10 ms−1, time t= 50 second , mass, m=10000 kg.
We know that, Force , F = m v−ut
Therefore, F =10000 ×10−050
= 10000 ×15
⇒F=2000 kgms−2or 2000 N.
Thus required force = 2000 N
