Speed of bus $= u k m / h$

As we know that,

$speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}$

$\Rightarrow$ Distance $=$ Speed $\times$ Time

Distance travelled by bus in $5$ hours $= u \times 5 = 5 u$

Distance left to reach chennai after $5$ hours $= 20 k m$

Therefore,

The distance of Chennai from Bengaluru $=$ Distance traveled by bus in $5$ hours $+$ 20

$\Rightarrow$ Distance of Chennai from Bengaluru $= 5 u + 20$

Hence the distance between Bengaluru and Chennai is $(5 u + 20) k m$ .
