In the figure,

VBW=Velocity of butterfly in the frame of wind

VWG=Velocity of wind in the frame of ground

We know that,

VBW=VBGVWG

VBG=VBW+VWG

VBG=V2BW+V2WG+2VBWVWGcosθ

VBG=(42)2+12+2(42)(1)cos(90+45)

VBG=5 m/s

So, displacement in 3 seconds,

d=VBGt=5×3=15 m

Hence, option (D) is the correct answer.
