The correct option is C (b) 2.26 mA, 11.3 V
As given in the circuit,

Voltage, V=12 V and Resistance, R=5 kΩ

(a) In the initial connection, the current will flow through the Ge diode, so

I=120.35×103=11.75×103

=2.34×103 A=2.34 mA

Output voltage,

V0=IR=VVGe=120.3=11.7 V

(b) When the connections of Ge diode are reversed, then current will through silicon.

I=120.75×103=2.26×103 A=2.26 mA

Output voltage, V0=VVSi=120.7=11.3 V

Hence, (A) and (C) are the correct answers.
