A can contains 9 litres and 500 ml of juice. If 45 glasses of 100 ml each are filled, then how many glasses of 125 ml can be filled with the remaining juice?

We know, 1 litre = 1000 ml ...(0.25 marks)
So, total quanitity of juice = 9000 + 500 = 9500 ml ...(0.5 marks)

Number of glasses of 100 ml filled = 45.
Remaining amount of cold drink = 9500 - (45 × 100 ) = 9500 - 4500 = 5000 ml. ...(0.5 marks)
Number of 125ml glasses that can be filled with 5000 ml = 5000 ÷ 125 = 40. ...(0.5 marks)
Hence, 40 glasses of 125 ml can be filled. ...(0.5 marks)
