A's 1 hour's work $= \frac{1}{24}$

B's 1 hour's work $= \frac{1}{16}$

A,B and C's 1 hour's work $= \frac{1}{8}$

$∴$ C's 1 hours work $= \frac{1}{8} - (\frac{1}{16} + \frac{1}{24})$

$= \frac{6 - (2 + 3)}{48} = \frac{6 - 5}{48} = \frac{1}{48}$

$∴$ C can finish the work in =48 hours.
