A car A moving at $10 m s^{- 1}$ on a straight road, is ahead of car B moving in the same direction at $6 m s^{- 1}$ . Find the velocity of A relative to B and vice versa.

Solution

Velocity of A relative to B is given as $V_{A B} = V_{A} - V_{B}$ $=$ $10 - 6 = 4 m s^{- 1}$

Velocity of A relative to B is given as $V_{B A} = V_{B} - V_{A}$ $=$ $6 - 10 = - 4 m s^{- 1}$
