Initial velocity of truck, uT=0
Acceleration of the truck = aT
Acceleration of the car, ac=0.
Let the displacement of car w.r.t truck be ScT
When the truck meets the car, ScT=0
Using second equation of motion,
ScT=ucTt+12acTt2
0=(ucuT)t+12(acaT)t2
0=(400)t+12(04)t2
2t2=40t2t=40
