Solution

The correct option is A ₹700
Given, a car can travel 75 km in 3 litres of petrol.

Distance travelled on the road trip = distance travelled at 50 km/hr + distance travelled at 75 km/hr

Distance = Speed × Time
Distance covered=50×2 + 75×2
Distance covered=100 + 150
Distance covered=250 km

We know that if distance increases, the consumption of petrol will also increase.

So, Distance(x) Litres of petrol(y)
x1y1 = x2y2

Given,
x1 = 75 km
y1 = 3 litres
x2 = 250 km
and y2 = litres of petrol consumed
753 = 250y2
y2 = 250 × 375 = 10 litres

Since, 1 litre of petrol costs ₹70
10 liters will cost = 10×70 = 700
