A car is moving with the speed 20 m/sec for first half distance of total distance and in next half distance it travels with the speed 40 m/sec find out average speed.

Average speed of the object when it moves with different velocities in equal displacement is given by -
$V_{a v g} = \frac{2 V_{1} V_{2}}{V_{1} + V_{2}}$
Or $V_{a v g} = \frac{2 \times 20 \times 40}{20 + 40} = 26.7 m / s$
