The correct option is C 5m/s2

Given that,

Tangential acceleration at=3m/s2

Velocity v=40m/s

Radius r=400m

We know that,

Centripetal acceleration is

ac=v2r

ac=40×40400

ac=4m/s2

Now total acceleration is

a=ac+at

a=42+32

a=5 m/s2

Hence, the total acceleration is 5 m/s2
