Speed, s1km/hrs2=s1+4km/hr

Time, t1hourst2=t1-2hours

Step 2: Determine the value of s1

speed=distancetimes1=390t1-(1)

Step 3: Determine the value of s2

speed=distancetimes2=390t2s1+4=390t1-2-(2)

Step 4: Solve the equations

Substitute (1) in (2),

390t1+4=390t1-2390t1-390t1-2=-4t12+4t1-780=0t1=-30,26

As time cannot be negative, t1=26hours

Step 5: Determine the value of s1

s1=39026=15hours

Therefore, the value of 'x' is 15hours.
