According to the question, time taken by the car = $\frac{x}{2}$ hrs

Distance = Speed $\times$ Time

$\Rightarrow$ 2592 = (x) $\times$ ($\frac{x}{2}$)
$\Rightarrow$ 2592 = $\frac{x^2}{2}$

$\Rightarrow$ 5184 = $x^2$

$\Rightarrow$ x = 72

So, time taken = $\frac{x}{2}$ = $\frac{72}{2}$ = 36 hrs
