Solution

The correct option is D 33 km
  • Let
    • Distance covered by the car in the first 0.5 hours with a speed of 45 km/h be L1 =10 m/s×0.5 hrs
    • To convert the speed unit from m/s into km/h we have to multiply with 3.6
    • L1 =10×3.6×0.5=18 km
  • Let
    • Distance covered by the car in last 15 minutes with a speed of 55 km/h be L2. =60 km/h×15min.
    • To convert the time unit from minutes into hours we have to divide by 60
    • L2 =60×(1560)=15 km
  • Total distance covered = L1 + L2 = 18+15=33 km
