Solution

Steps: 1 Marks
Distance: 2 Mark
Average Speed: 2 Mark

15 minutes =1560hrs=0.25 hrs

Distance covered in first 15 minutes =speed×time

=40×0.25=10 km

Speed of car changes to 60 km/hr and it travels for another 15 min.

Distance covered in next 15 minutes =speed×time

=60×0.25=15 km

Total distance covered in 30 minutes = 10 + 15 = 25 km

Average speed =Total DistanceTotal time
=250.5
= 50 km/hr
