A car moving at 4 kmph is to be stopped by applying brakes in the next 40 m. If the car weighs 2000 kg, what average force must be applied on it?

According to the given question-
u=4km/h; initial velocity
u=109 ms1
v=0 ms1; final velocity
s=40 m; displacement
m=200 kg; mass of the car

Using third equation of the motion:
v2u2=2as
a=v2u22s

a=0100812×40

a=10080×81m/s2

Now, apply the second law of newton
F=ma

F=2000×10080×81N

F=30.86N
