Question

A car of mass 1500 kg is moving with constant velocity of 10m/s . calculate the force required to move this car

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

Assuming that the car is moving in a straight line, and that there is no acceleration since the car is moving with constant velocity of 10m/s.
Mass of car = 1500kg
Acceleration = 0 (since car is moving with constant velocity)
Therefore, Force = Mass x Acceleration = 1500kg x 0m/s²
Or, Force = 0
Ans. No force is required to move the car; it is already in motion, moving with a constant velocity of 10m/s
