Given:
Distance travelled by the car in t1=2 s is d1
In this case, speed v1=40 ms1
Distance travelled by the car in t2=4 s is d2
In this case, speed v2=60 ms1
We know that,
Distance travelled = Speed x Time
d1=40x2=80 m
d2=60x4=240 m
Total distance travelled =d1+d2=240+80=320 m
