Question

A card is drawn at random from a pack of 52 cards. Find the probability that the card drawn is neither a red card nor a queen.

Open in App
Solution

We cannot pickup a red card

so 26 red cards are eleminated in which 2 red queens are also counted

now we need to eleminate the 2 black queens also

so total number eleminated = 26 +2 = 28

total number of favourable cards = 52 - 28 = 24

total number of cards in pack = 52

probability = 24/52 = 6/13
