Find the probability that the card drawn is either a king or a queen.

Let PE be the probability that the card drawn is either a king or a queen.

Total number of cards in a deck=52

Number of possible outcomes=52

Total number kings=4

Total number of queens=4

Number of favourable outcomes=4+4 =8

We know that PE=NumberoffavourableoutcomesNumberofpossibleoutcomes

So, PE=852=213

Hence, the probability that the card drawn is either a king or a queen is213
