A card is drawn at random from a well shuffled pack of 52 cards. Find the probability that the card drawn has a prime number on it.
4/13
The number cards are from 2 to 10, of which only 2, 3, 5 and 7 are prime numbers.
Since there are 4 suits in a deck, we will have 4 x 4 = 16 cards with prime numbers on them.
We know that, Probability of an event E, P(E) =Number of favourable outcomesTotal number of outcomes
Thus, the required probability = 1652 = 413.
