A card is drawn at random from a well shuffled pack of 52 cards.
Find the probability that the card drawn is :

(ii) bears a number between 3 and 8 both inclusive.

Open in App
Solution

Total number of cards = 52
∴ n (S) = 52
Now,
Let B be the event that the drawn card bears a number between 3 and 8 (both inclusive).
We know:
Number of cards bearing numbers between 3 and 8 (both inclusive) = 24
n (B) = 24
And,
P (B) = n(B)n(S) = 2452= 613
Probability that the drawn card bears a number between 3 and 8 (both inclusive) = 613
