Find the probability that the card drawn is :

(i) bears a number between 4 and 7 both inclusive.

Open in App
Solution

Total number of cards = 52
∴ n(S) = 52
Now,
Let A be the event that the drawn card bears a number between 4 and 7 (both inclusive).
We know:
Number of cards bearing numbers between 4 and 7 (both inclusive) = 16
n (A) = 16
And,
P (A) = n(A)n(S) = 1652= 413
Probability that the drawn card bears a number between 4 and 7 (both inclusive) = 413
