(a) a king (b) a face card

Open in App
Solution

Let S be the sample space.
There are 52 playing cards in a pack
n(S)=52
Let A be the event that the card drawn is a king
Total king in pack =4
n(A)=4
P(A)=n(A)n(S)=452=113
Let B be the event that the card drawn is a face card
Total face card in a pack =12
n(B)=12
P(B)=n(B)n(S)=1252=313
