Carpenter ward measurements
$= 4 m = 3 m : 400 c m \times 300 c m = 120000$ sq. cms
Rectangular piece of $240 c m \times 40$ is cut $= 9600$ sq.cm
Remains piece $= 120000 - 9600$
$= 110400$
Ratio of cut piece and remaining piece $= \frac{9600}{110400} = \frac{96}{1104}$
$= \frac{2}{23}$ .
