A carriage wheel makes 1500 revolutions in going over a distance of 4.5 km. Find its radius.

Open in App
Solution

Given distance covered by carriage wheel is 4.5 km=4500 m
[Since, 1 km=1000 m]
Since, Circumference =2πr
Thus, the distance = number of revolutions × circumference
4500m=1500(2πr)
3000(3.14)r=4500
r=4500[(3000)(3.14)]
r=0.47771 m
r=0.47771×100 cm=47.771 cm
