A carrier wave of peak voltage 15 V is used to transmit a message signal. Find the peak voltage of the modulating signal in order to have a modulation index of 60%.

Peak voltage of carrier wave, $E_{c}$ = 15 V.
Modulation index, m = 60% =0.6
Peak voltage of modulating signal, $E_{m}$ = ?
Since, modulation index, m = $\frac{E_{m}}{E_{c}}$
hence, $E_{m} = m E_{c} = 0.6 \times 15 = 9 V$
