Solution

Meiotic cell division :

  1. Meiosis refers to the type of cell division that reduces the number of chromosomes in the parent cell by half and produces four gamete cells. Thus it is also known as reductional division
  2. So, if the parent cell has 16 chromosomes, after meiotic division it will get reduced to half and thus, the daughter cells will have 8 chromosomes.
