Given: S.P. of 4 articles =₹ 180
⇒ S.P. of 1 article =₹ $\frac{180}{4}$
=₹ 45
Step 2: Find loss/gain as percent
Since C.P. > S.P.
∴ Loss (in ₹) = C.P. − S.P.
=₹ 50−₹ 45
=₹ 5
Loss percentage $=\frac{Loss}{C.P.}\times 100$
=$\frac{5}{50}\times 100$
=10
Hence, the loss as a percent is 10%.
