Let principal is $x$ , $R = 4$ % & $T = 6$ yr
$A = S I + P$
$= \frac{x \times 4 \times 6}{100} + x$
$620 = \frac{124 x}{100}$
$\frac{620 \times 100}{124} = x$
$x = 500$
Rate of interest now $= 2 \times 4$ % $= 8$ %
$A = S I + P$
$700 = \frac{500 \times 8 \times T}{100} + 500$
$\Rightarrow 200 = 40 T$
$T = 5$ yr
Answer $= 5$ years.
