A chair cost rupee's 250 and a table costs rupee's 400.If housewife purchase d a certain number of chairs and two tables for rupee's 2800,find the number of chairs she purchased.

Cost of tables purchased - 400 × 2 = Rs. 800
Money used to purchase chairs - Rs. 2800 - 800 = 2000
Cost of each chair - Rs. 250
Therefore, number of chairs bought - 2000 ÷ 250 = 8

Therefore the wife bought 8 chairs.
