A chemist has two solutions of hydrochloric acid in stock. One is $50$ solution and the other is $80$ solution. How much of each should be used to obtain $100ml$ of $68$ solution.

let volume of $50$ solution be $x$ ml and volume of $80$ solution be $y$ ml. according to question

$50x+80y=6800$ ......(i)

$x+y=10$...... (ii)

on solving both equations , we get

$x=40ml$

$y=60ml$
