In a single throw of a die, the possible outcomes are:
A,B,C,A,A,B
Total number of possible outcomes = 6
(i) Let E₁ be the event of getting A.
Number of favourable outcomes = 3
∴ P( getting A) = P (E₁) = $\frac{3}{6}=\frac{1}{2}$

(ii) Let E₂ be the event of getting B.
Number of favourable outcomes = 2
∴ P( getting B) = P (E₂) = $\frac{2}{6}=\frac{1}{3}$
