His father was not there. From here he went 100m to the North before meeting his father in a street. How far did the son meet his father from the starting point?

The movements of the child from A to E are as shown in fig
Clearly, the child meets his father at E.
Now AF=(ABFB)=(ABDC)=(9030)m=60m.
EF=(DEDF)=(DEBC)=(10020)m=80m.
Required distance
=AE=AF2+EF2=(60)2+(80)2)
=3600+6400=10000=100m
