A chocolate factory produced 567,390 chocolate bars in the first six months and 344,547 chocolate bars in the next six months due to the increased demand. The total number of chocolate bars produced in that year is.

Number of chocolate bars produced in the first 6 months =567,390

While, the number of chocolate bars produced in the next 6 months =344,547

So, total numbe rof chocolate bars produced in that year
=567,390+344,547

Aligning both the numbers according to Place Value table,



For adding these two numbers we need to add the like terms of both the digits together i.e. digits at ones place will be added together, digits at tens place will be added together and so on.

So, adding Ones place digits, we get



Now, adding digits at Tens place,



As we know that,

13 Tens =10 Tens +3 Tens

10 Tens +3 Tens =1 Hundreds +3 Tens

So, we will keep 3 at the Tens place and give 1 as a carry to Hundreds place.



Similar operations will be done for addition of rest of the digit's places, as depicted in figure below,



Therefore, 567,390+344,547=911,937.
And, Hence a total of 911,937 chocolate bars were produced in that year.
