A chord of length 20 cm is drawn at a distance of 24 cm from the centre of a circle. Find the radius of the circle.

Here, AB = 20cm and OC = 24cm

Now,

$AC=CB=\frac{AB}{2}=10cm$ (perpendicular drawn from centre of the circle to the chord,bisects the chord)

Then using Pythagorean Theorem:

$OA=\sqrt{(A{C}^2+O{C}^2)}=\sqrt{({10}^2+{24}^2)}=\sqrt{676}=26$
