A circle centered at O and of radius 3.5 cm is divided into six equal parts as shown in the figure below.
If the endpoints of these lines are joined, then the 2D shape so obtained is
a regular hexagon
Draw a circle with radius 3.5 cm and divide it into six equal parts.
Then join A to B, B to C, C to D, D to E and E to F.
Now, by measuring the lengths of sides AB, BC, CD, DE, EF and FA, we see that AB = BC = CD = DE = EF = FA = 3.5 cm.
Also, we see that, ∠A = ∠B = ∠C = ∠D = ∠E = ∠F = 120∘
Hence the 2D shape so obtained inside the circle is a regular hexagon.
