A circle centered at O and of radius 5 cm is divided into six equal parts as shown in the figure below.
If the endpoints of these lines are joined, then the 2D shape so obtained is
a regular hexagon
Draw a circle with radius 5 cm and divide it into six equal parts.
Then join A to B, B to C, C to D, D to E and E to F.
Now, by measuring the lengths of sides AB, BC, CD, DE, EF and FA, we see that AB = BC = CD = DE = EF = FA = 5 cm.
Also, we see that, ∠A = ∠B = ∠C = ∠D = ∠E = ∠F = 120∘
Hence the 2D shape so obtained inside the circle is a regular hexagon.
