Given: Side of the square $=a$ cm

$\therefore$ Diameter of the circle $=a$ cm

Hence radius of the circle = $\frac{a}{2}$ cm

$\therefore$ Area of the circle $=\pi r^2$

$=\pi \times {\left(\frac{a}{2}\right)}^2$

$=\pi \times \frac{a^2}{4}$

$=\frac{22}{7}\times \frac{a^2}{4}$

$=\frac{11a^2}{14}$
