A circle of radius 2 cm is cut out from a square piece of an aluminium sheet of side 6 cm. What is the area of the left over aluminium sheet?

Radius of circle, $r=2cm$
Side length of aluminium square sheet, $s=6cm$

We know that, area of a square $=s\times s$
And area of a circle $=\pi r^2$

Area of aluminium sheet left
= Total area of aluminium sheet - Area of circle


$=(s\times s)-\pi r^2$
$=(6\times 6)-\frac{22}{7}\times 2\times 2$
$=36-12.56$
$=23.44c{m}^2$

Therefore, the area of aluminium sheet left is 23.44 $c{m}^2$
