Solution

It is given that side of a square sheet =6cm.

Area of the square sheet =side2

=62

=36cm2

Radius of circle r=2cm

Area of a circular sheet which is cut out from a square piece of an aluminium sheet=πr2

=3.14×22

=3.14×4

=12.56cm2

Area of the remaining sheet = Area of the square sheet - Area of circular sheet

Area of the remaining sheet =36-12.56

=23.44

Hence, the area of the remaining sheet is 23.44 cm2
