Area of the circle
=πr2=3.14×(8)2=3.14×64=200.96 cm2

Now from the given figure, we can say,
Side of the square = diameter of the circle = 16 cm
So, area of the square=162=256 cm2
Therefore,
The area of the shaded region
= Area of the square - Area of the circle
=256200.96
=55.04 cm2
