Since tangents drawn from an exterior point to a circle are equal in length.
So, AB + CD = BC + DA 10 + 6 = 8 + DA
So, DA = 16 - 8
= 8 cm
In the adjoing figure, a circle touches all the four sides fo a quadrilateral ABCD whose sides are AB = 6 cm, BC = 9 cm and CD = 8 cm. Find the length side AD.
In Fig. 8.59, a circle touches all the four sides of a quadrilateral ABCD with AB =6 cm, BC =7 cm and CD =4 cm. Find AD.
